Contents:

The lecture deals with the fundamentals of particle technology: particle shape, motion and size distribution, separation processes, mixing, comminution, population balances, fixed beds and fluidized beds as well as powder mechanics.

Exercises:

In order to consolidate the material of the lecture and to show solutions for problems in particle technology we will solve exercises in the tutorials.

Homework:

In order to receive permission to take the examination, the students will have to solve homework tasks which they will receive in the tutorials. They have to achieve 50 % of the total points for the homework 1-4 and 5-8 each.Homework and the practical course have to be passed in the same semester.

Tutorium:

Fundamental questions concerning the lecture and excercise will be answered during the 2 hour students` tutorial every week. In addition typical examination tasks will be solved.

Written examination:

In order to prepare yourself for the examination, you will find former written examinations with solutions on StudOn.

Practical course:

Every student has to do 3 experiments in the lab sessions.

Group and time scheduling takes place in the first lectures. Please contact the appropiate assistant directly if you have any questions. Further information can be found via StudOn.
